Olga's Coffee Shop has been growing slowly and organically - just like our coffee beans.
Olga Yuryeva, the founder, was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. She was living in New York City when she first came to Costa Rica on vacation in 2002, and she fell in love with the many wonders of this splendid country. On a return trip in 2003, she met Pedro Gonzalez, the owner of a small organic farm located in the Central Valley and, after taking the first sip of his coffee and visiting the farm, it was clear that those beans he produced were very special.
That's when Olga started her first project in Tamarindo:
The vibes were great, the coffee was irresistible, and the beginning was hard, but the place was blessed with great success. The word Shanti means "peace" in Hindi - the beginning of every beginning - but no one failed to call the place "Olga's." So, the name and location changed, but the quality remained.
Reincarnated, Olga's ran for a couple of years in the old Tamarindo Resort, which was a lot of fun. Many, many encounters happened there; magical times... thanks to so many of you who supported Olga's Coffee Shop.
In its third incarnation, Olga's moved to the Las Olas building on the road to Langosta, where business exploded. The elegant indoor coffee bar establishment elevated the vibe to New York City stature and our reputation in Tamarindo became legendary.
Taking a quiet step back to our peaceful roots, Olga's has returned to being a small, outdoor café. With a more central location in downtown Tamarindo, it is now the perfect spot to watch the world pass by. Sit down, have a cup of coffee, and soak in the mellow pace of Tamarindo life, from locals walking by on their way to work to surfers heading to and from the beach.
Through it all, Olga's has always offered the highest quality organic coffee in Costa Rica! Join us for a cup today.
